Eyeglasses Care & Tips

Your eyeglasses are an important part of your everyday life. With proper care, you can keep your frames looking great, protect your lenses and extend the life of your glasses.

1. Clean your lenses properly

Rinse your glasses with lukewarm water to remove dust and particles that could scratch the lenses. Then use a small amount of mild dish soap or a lens-cleaning solution and gently dry with a clean microfiber cloth.

2. Avoid paper towels and clothing

Paper towels, tissues and clothing can contain fibres or particles that may damage lens coatings over time. Always use a clean microfiber cloth specifically designed for eyeglasses.

3. Handle your glasses with both hands

Put on and remove your glasses using both hands. This helps prevent the temples from becoming misaligned and reduces unnecessary stress on the frame.

4. Keep your glasses in their case

When you are not wearing your glasses, keep them in a protective case. Avoid placing them lens-down on tables or other surfaces.

5. Protect your glasses from heat

Excessive heat can damage certain lens coatings and may affect the shape of some frames. Avoid leaving your glasses in a hot car, near a heater or exposed to intense heat.

6. Don't use household cleaners

Window cleaners, disinfectants, alcohol-based products and other household cleaners may damage lens coatings. Use products specifically designed for optical lenses.

7. Have your glasses adjusted professionally

If your glasses feel loose, sit unevenly or are uncomfortable, don't try to bend or repair the frame yourself. Our opticians can professionally adjust your glasses and check that the frame is properly aligned.

8. We believe in repairing and reusing whenever possible

If your prescription changes and your frame is still in good condition, you don't necessarily need a new pair of glasses. We can replace the lenses in your existing frame whenever possible, allowing you to continue wearing a frame you love.

If your frame breaks, bring it to us before replacing it. We will assess whether it can be repaired and, whenever possible, give your frame a second life. If the frame cannot be repaired, we can also look for a replacement frame in the appropriate size that can accommodate your existing lenses.

This approach helps reduce unnecessary waste while allowing you to get the most out of your glasses.

9. Regular maintenance makes a difference

Small adjustments and maintenance can help extend the life of your glasses. If your frame needs tightening, cleaning, adjustment or repair, stop by our boutique—we'll be happy to help.

A little care goes a long way.

Taking a few simple precautions every day can help your glasses stay comfortable, clear and looking their best for years to come.
